Grit, guts and Ganguly.. What a way to end the year by INDIAN CRICKET TEAM...

Hhm I am regaining my lost interest in Indian Cricket. Hope to catch some good time during the World Cup..

SMALL BITES...

Its 5.56 pm and I am tired of looking at my desktop. My table is piled with unmanageable wisdom and it refuses to leave my desk. (or I refuse to part with it). My eyes are tired and I somehow reach out to my window at my back and look for the skyline. (I have never done that in the last three months). I can see the big software hubs, light peeping out of their small monotonous windows. Everyone seems to be working. Some of my colleagues are giving final touches to their event programs. I have done my job, time to move on. I leave for the day! The next thing I am going to do is search and pool of water and wriggle through the same with my finger. When I do this my mind should not think of any determined patterns. It should go with its own abstract forms. This needs to go on for atleast 15 minutes. (a relaxation exercise that I learnt in some book. By the time I completed this scrap, it is 6.04 pm and many mosquitoes have entered my workspace through the window and started making their presence felt. I know its time to shut up..

I am reading...

On weekends, my bedside usually gets piled up with books I plan to read. Nothing particular, but it makes me appear more updated, well read and connects me to a couple of characters to whom I can easily relate to without feeling uncomfortable. I usually prefer self help literature. When it comes to fiction, I am a keen and a humble follower of Paulo Coelho. When I realized the local bookshop is offering a Christmas discount, I was proactive to collect some Coelho wisdom and add on to my personal collection. (I have this habit of underlining interesting text and I like to go over it several times even after I have read the book). And by now, I have most of his books in my possession.

I am yet to completely absorb his words of wisdom, but what intrigues me most in his characters is the “search” passion that each one of them carries. (For knowledge, wisdom, wealth, fame – whatever may be the target). All his characters seem to inherit this search till the unidentified end. Usually they end up with experience that itself is fulfilling and enriching. Sounds Philosophical? May be..

I think it gives you courage to enjoy the odyssey of life. I started with Alchemist, followed by The Zahir and then Eleven Minutes. Currently I am reading “The Pilgrimage”. While all the above seem to progress on similar lines, Eleven minutes seems to be different. I am convinced about how Coelho through his protagonist Mari, reveals the concept of sacred sex. It is a convincing paradox and thought provoking as well.

I need to blog !

Amidst my critical work deadlines, I chose to blog. Yes on a weekend!

Reason: Come back of the controversial left handed Indian ex captain! Saurav’s return may have elicited mixed reactions in the Indian camp, but for hundred’s of his humble fans, including me it is a great & of course a well deserved come back…

For the Calcutta prince, who is claimed to have got in to the team on the basis of quota system, this is the right opportunity to reach out to his critics. But what it may take is another Lords to satisfy his critics. When it comes to captaincy, the records speak for themselves. (http://www.howstat.com/cricket/Statistics/Players/PlayerOverview_ODI.asp?PlayerID=2059).His detractors cannot deny that he has the best record of any Indian skipper

But it’s a pity that the cricket lovers forget the tumultuous times when Ganguly took over the reigns and he galvanized the team into a fighting combative unit. There are people who will say that while Ganguly remains a wonderful man management person, strategy has never been his strong point. They say life always gives you a another chance. This one is for Saurav!
